A Pathway to Healing

Psalm 119:105  Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

When you pray, let your heart be without words, than your words without a heart.          John Bunyan

During my darkest days with depression, when I couldn't muster up the words to pray, I found that writing a journal of prayers taken from Scripture, helped restore my heart. Here are some examples of Scripture prayer that will bring you into God's presence where He will lift you up.

Psalm 28:1  To you I call, O Lord, my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will not remain silent. I am in a day of trouble and need you to hear my prayer. How can I praise you if I go down to the pit.

Jeremiah 3:49 My tears will flow unceasingly without relief until the Lord looks down from heaven and sees.

Prayer: Lord, I have cried enough tears for you to see down from heaven and see why I cry. Hear my plea for deliverance from depression. My tears will flow unceasingly until you answer. Please act on my behalf. I thank you that you will, but until your time is right, I will let my tears flow.

Make your own prayers using your favorite Scripture and as you pray them back to God, you'll be blessed by His healing Words.

More Scripture prayer examples:

Psalm 139:2  Even the darkness will not be dark to you, the night will shine like the day, for the darkness is as light to you.

Prayer: I'm grateful that the pathway through the darkness is clearly brighter when I allow you to lead the way.

Psalm 112:4 Even in darkness, light dawns...

Prayer: Thank you for the morning sun that brightens my soul after a night of darkness.

Ecclesiates 5:20 I will not often remember the years of my life because God keeps me occupied with gladness of heart.

Thank you , Lord, for giving me a new life filled with gladness in knowing you.

As yet, I have seen half my days, and that a sorrowful half; give me to live till the flustering morning shall have softened into a bright afternoon of happier existence.

This is my prayer.
